Deep tissue will use an increase of pressure in problem areas and will work into deeper layers of the muscle tissue. Therapists include the use of forearms, elbows and knuckles as needed. While we have therapists skilled in deep pressure, remember that deeper is not always better and "no pain no gain" is NOT a phrase we go by. Prenatal massage is one of the best things a woman could do for herself and her baby while being pregnant. Despite some of the myths, there is no indication of negative side effects of massage in the 1st trimester with trained professionals. We do offer this from the beginning of your pregnancy up to the day you are going in to deliver. Deep tissue, however, is not advised. *Yami, Amanda and Bridget.
Special trigger points will be focused on to relieve tension in the head along with facial/sinus work when needed, scalp work, and a lot of neck and shoulder work. Relaxing pressure up to a gentle therapeutic pressure using heated stones to deepen relaxation and melt away muscle tension; especially to warm up during winter. This service is only offered by *Amanda Wheeler* who is trained in infant massage and has had 3 children of her own whom she regularly practiced on. Parents are taught how to perform basics during this treatment. Techniques will cover full body massage and tips for colic/constipation, sinuses, sleep and more. Recommended to feed child about 45 minutes before service and schedule when they are not too sleepy if possible.
This treatment includes the use of silicon massage cups (which use a reverse pressure or suction of the tissue) on the problem areas in order to promote blood flow and circulation, loosen adhesions, release trigger points and flush out the toxins in the area in order to promote healing to the "issues in the tissues". *Yami, Amanda and Alisen.
This treatment includes the use of GuaSha tools during your massage treatment. GuaSha is from Chinese medicine over 2,000 years ago. It is also commonly known as scraping. Typically up to 20 minutes because of the friction and pressure on the therapist's hands. Longer than 20 minutes, we recommend table massage. A special chair is used for the client to sit on while clothed. Therapist will perform compression style techniques to areas such as the neck, shoulders, arms and hip. Legs are not typically worked but can be somewhat accessible if needed.

My classes are 1 1/2 hours long. They begin with centering & breath awareness. The bulk of the class consists of asanas (postures), which vary in intensity depending on the theme of the class. Each class integrates the science of bio-mechanical alignment, the art of inner body awareness & a celebration of the heart. Students are encouraged to explore the benefits of yoga in a lighthearted way. You begin with the first step: opening to possibility, and expand from there.
Flow form style class focusing on alignment with both strengthening and stretching within each pose. My focus is to help relieve stress and improve mental clarity. Class is suitable for the fit beginner and intermediate students. I try to have a fun and relaxed approach to my class sequences for students to enjoy laughing and releasing stress.
Yin Yoga is focused on the joints, fascia & ligaments of the body tissues. It consists of about 20 poses; selection of poses varies in each class. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes; all are reclined or seated in order to release deeper into the connective tissues & open meridians. It's the recommended style of yoga for people 30 & older as we enter the "yin" stage of life & leave the "yang" stage. This is the forgotten part of balance to the body as most people solely focus on rigorous activity.
Chair yoga is great for anyone who has injuries or limits or difficulty in any poses that typically require being on the floor. *Not your typical chair yoga*. This class focuses on correcting posture, mobilizing restrictions in the body, finding how to contract the proper muscles in order to bring balance and health back to the muscles of the body while creating safe movement and alignment for the joints and relieving stiffness.

FUN 30-45 minute class for mom & child or for older children on their own to participate in a themed class. Deep breathing and focus will begin class followed by fun character poses that will range from balance to strengthening to stretching. Not all kids will want to fully participate, but that is ok; they will love it no matter how many they can do! Wonderful bonding experience for mom & child.
